BRASSA
Restaurant & Bar
Area - 1500 sq ft
Role - Project Lead
Brassa! Oh, what an enticing challenge! The restaurant embodies an extremely breezy and tropical vibe, something quite difficult to capture. The cozy corners of the space hold large mirrors that reflect the opening on the other side of the fiddle-leaf fig.
A vaulted POP ceiling and arched windows with sheer curtains exaggerate the spectacular views of the city. In-built planters, crafted on-site and flanked by brass table lamps, offer an intimate vibe at night. White terracotta tiles, designed by MAIA and handcrafted by Kutch potters from the community of Kumbhars, adorn the walls. A black couch in front creates contrast, driving home the monochromatic palette. A custom chandelier hanging in the space and oversized mirrors reflecting the light make everything feel airier.
A fabric origami installation, designed in collaboration with Adigami, provides a warm and artistic glow while illuminating the bar. The custom grid joinery detail of the bar in birch ply adds drama, while the mirror grid built on-site reflects the entire bar in front of it. Large monstera plants in the space provide a refreshing break from the otherwise monochromatic and neutral palette.
